The trail leads you to explore cultural and historical treasures, natural gems, unique artistry that graces the town, and modern-day highlights.
Sign up for the pass, then indulge your curiosity, ignite your creativity, and create a visual diary of your journey through Sonora.
As you visit each location, check-in on your phone and snap a selfie. Every time you check in, you’ll earn points, and every five points equals one entry in the grand prize drawing from Visit Tuolumne County. The more locations you visit the better your opportunity to win the exclusive prize that includes items from Sonora businesses; the next drawing drawing will be held June 30, 2025.

City Hall
Sonora's City Hall is housed in the former Sonora Fire Department Eureka Engine Company building which was constructed in 1939.
Dragoon Trail
Over three miles of trails travel along a seasonal creek to vistas that provide spectacular views of the City and its surrounding mountain ranges. The trails vary in difficulty making it perfect for the casual walker and for those who want a strenuous hike, jog or bike ride. Trail heads are located at Sonora Rotary Park and at the end of Alpine Dr.

Farmers Market Mural
The Sonora Farmers Market mural is a vibrant and captivating masterpiece that skillfully captures the essence of local agriculture and community. Designed by local artist, Judy Grossman and lovingly painted by community members, the mural is located at the home of the Sonora Famers' Market in the parking lot at the northeast corner of Theal and Stewart Streets.

Fire Station 75
Sonora has one fire station centrally located within the community of 3.5 square miles.
Historic Courthouse on Yaney
The historic courthouse was completed in 1900 was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981. The original plans for the building had it facing Washington Street, but wealthy business man Samuel Bradford, influenced the County government to have it face his home that stood across the street.
Linoberg Pedestrian Park
The Linoberg Pedestrian Park, between the historic Linoberg Building and the Diamondback Grill on Washington Street, is a nice place to enjoy a cup of coffee right in the heart of downtown and is also a bustling causeway when it hosts numerous musical, arts, and holiday events.
Prospector Park
Prospector Park is a hidden gem located at the corner of Bradford, Linoberg, and Stockton Streets. There are representations of early mining techniques that can be viewed: an arrastra, one of the earliest mining methods, a stamp from a stamp mill, and a pelton wheel that was used to provide waterpower.
Rother's Corner
Rother's Corner is a quaint and small park near the iconic Red Church, Sonora Fire Museum, and City Hall. The historical marker describes the families that lived on the site over time.
Shay Steam Locomotive #3
The Shay locomotive stands as a captivating testament to the bygone era of steam power. The Sugar Pine Railway #3 ran the rails of Tuolumne County, hauling timber out of the mountains to the mill in nearby Standard.
Sonora Chinatown Historical Marker
This historical marker and monument are dedicated to the memory of Chinese Pioneers who made this section of town their home during the Gold Rush era.
Sonora Fire Museum 1852 hand pumper
The Sonora Fire Museum's 1852 hand pumper stands as a tangible piece of firefighting history, showcasing the intricate craftsmanship and innovative design of an era when communities relied on such remarkable apparatus to combat blazes.
Sonora High School Football Stadium - Dunlavy Field
Named for Vernon Dunlavy, the Sonora High school's first superintendent and football coach was built in 1937 and seats 5,000 Wildcat fans and other event attendees.
Sonora Opera Hall & Community Center
The Sonora Opera Hall is a center of pride in Sonora with its Victorian-era architecture, adorned with ornate details. Today it provides a unique setting for a variety of performances and events, but it began its history as a Flour Mill in 1879.
St. Patrick's Catholic Church
The spire atop the charming St. Patrick’s Catholic Church is visible throughout much of the town, a point of gleaming white amidst the tree-covered hills. The current structure has been in continuous service since 1875.
Sugg House
The Sugg House exudes history. In 1857, William Sugg, a former slave who bought his own freedom after coming to California, built this three-room, brick-faced adobe house. The adobe blocks were made in the front yard. As Sugg's family grew to 11 children, it became necessary to construct the wood frame addition. The home was occupied by the Sugg Family for 125 years.

The Dome
Once an elementary school, the Dome boasts an impressive architectural presence, standing as a symbol atop a hill and overlooking the town.
The Historic Sonora Inn
The picturesque Sonora Inn, originally the Hotel Victoria when it opened in 1897, is actually two buildings despite its outward appearance. The hotel was built as the Sierra Railway was expanding and there was growing anticipation of more travelers to Sonora.
The Red Church
The Red Church, formally St. James’ Episcopal Church, stands as a vibrant icon and is one of the city’s most photographed structures.
The Sonora Brewing Company Mural
A mural featuring silhouettes of brewing equipment adorns the exterior wall of Sonora Brewing Company located on the corner of Washington and Bradford Streets.

A colorful floral mural located on the side of Sonora Florist and Gifts is a favorite selfie spot for locals and visitors alike. Located at the corner of Washington and Bradford Streets
The Sportsman
Over 70 years of tradition is under one roof at The Sportsman, the only known business that sells beer and guns.
Tuolumne County Museum and History Center
The Tuolumne County Museum and History Center doesn’t only house history of Tuolumne County, but it has history in its own right as it was the County jail from its construction in 1867 through the 1960s.
Tuolumne County Veterans Memorial Hall and Museum
The Tuolumne County Veterans Memorial Hall and Museum stands as a poignant tribute to the brave men and women who have served in the US military since World War I through a rich collection of artifacts, exhibits, and memorials.
Woods Creek Next to Coffill Park
A lot of gold was pulled out of Woods Creek during the Gold Rush, and today several families and miners still have mining claims along the creek.
Mosaic Mural, Downtown Sonora
The vibrant mosaic mural depicts the natural wonders, wildlife, and plant-life of this region, including Half Dome in Yosemite National Park.
The piece was created by clients of WATCH Resources, the first state funded service for adults with intellectual disabilities in Tuolumne County.
